We are thrilled to be able to share our trusted resources with you! Please note that all referrals are just that, referrals. All our partners operate independently from POGO Rental Properties. All services are to be coordinated and paid directly to the vendor you choose. These services are not mandatory but rather, a convenient option if it helps you with your home care and moving process.

When and if you choose to hire a home-care service provider for cleaning, maintenance, painting, or moving please be sure that all services for hire are compliant with your lease/ POGO Rental Properties regulations. If you have questions about your lease regulations please let us know.

MOVE OUT CHECK LIST

The last few weeks before you move are exceptionally busy ones. To help, we have compiled a list of items required for you to vacate. We hope that this helps organize the move-out process. If you have questions about the move-out process, please let us know!

GENERAL MOVE-OUT INFORMATION

✔ We must have your forwarding address for you before your move-out date.

✔ Carpets must be professionally cleaned. We require a receipt of service. The rental of a carpet cleaner does not qualify as professional cleaning.

✔ House must be maintained and cleaned to the standard set for each room (listed below) If you are hiring a cleaning service you must coordinate and pay for your service directly. Please forward them this web address so they have access to the cleaning requirements.

✔ Please make sure that the house is left with a new air filter

✔ If vacating in the winter, set the thermostat at 64 degrees to prevent pipes from freezing

✔ All keys, garage door openers, and pool keys need to be turned in or left on the counter.

✔ All utilities must remain on and in your name until 11:59 PM on the final day of your lease unless otherwise authorized.

✔ A final walk-through is not required, however, we highly recommend it to make sure that we are on the same page with the move-out condition of the house.


If you want to schedule a final walk-through please let us know as soon as possible.

Kitchen

✔ All exhaust fans and vent covers should be in working order and clean of dust and grease.

✔ The filter on the bottom of the range/hood should be replaced

✔ Kitchen cabinets, shelves, and countertops must be washed inside and out, free of crumbs and sticky residue

✔ The refrigerator/freezer must be cleaned inside and out, free of crumbs and sticky residue

✔ Leave the Refrigerator/Freezer running; DO NOT DISCONNECT OR TURN OFF

✔ The water filter on the refrigerator must be replaced with a new filter

✔ The dishwasher must be clean, especially the inside lip of the door, free from residue

✔ All sinks and faucets must be wiped clean

✔ Backsplash should be wiped clean and free from splatters and residue

✔ Garbage disposal must be cleared and running freely

✔ Kitchen walls and floors must be washed and free of stains, dust, dirt, and grease. Please ensure they are free from splatters, dirt, fingerprints, etc. This is especially important on doors, high-traffic areas, kitchens, and bathrooms

✔ The grill/vent on the bottom front of the refrigerator must be cleaned

✔ Wall vents should be dusted and free of residue

✔ All windows should be cleaned (inside and out)

✔ Sweep and mop floors making sure they are free from residue and scuff marks

✔ A magic eraser and Goo Gone will remove most, if not all, scuffs, black marks, etc., on the walls, trim, and floors

Bathroom

✔ All bathroom floors and walls must be cleaned, with particular attention paid to the grout and caulking. Don’t forget the floorboards!

✔ All tubs, showers, sinks, and commodes must be cleaned, disinfected, and free of soap scum and cleanser residue. Don’t forget the floorboards or the area behind the commode

✔ All medicine cabinets, vanities, decorative shelves, and drawers must be cleaned inside and outside. All mirrors and light fixtures should be wiped clean

✔ All Light bulbs must be dusted off and in working order

✔ All windows should be cleaned (inside and out)

✔ Tile should be wiped clean and free from splatters, soap scum, and residue

✔ Wall vents should be dusted and free of residue

✔ All windows should be cleaned (inside and out)

✔ Please leave at least one roll of toilet paper in the house

All Rooms

✔ If you made any alterations to the home, including painting, you must restore it to its original condition unless otherwise agreed to in writing- This includes removing nails, and filling nail holes

✔ Please remove any command hooks and make sure the area is residue free (Goo Gone helps remove sticky residue)

✔ All non-carpeted floors should be free of stains, dust, and debris and should be mopped. If there are scuff marks on the floor please use a magic eraser (Goo Gone works well too) or another method to remove scuffs and marks

✔ All carpeted floors should be vacuumed before being professionally cleaned. This includes edging all floorboards to remove hair, dust, and debris

✔ All window treatments such as curtain rods, shades, and blinds that were provided must be cleaned and left in good working order

✔ Sliding glass doors must be wiped and the door tracks clean. This includes the track on both sides and the screen door. Please make sure the glass on the sliding doors is clean inside and out too. Doors should slide freely and with ease

✔ All light bulbs must be in working order and light fixtures/fans cleaned inside and out

✔ All walls, ceilings, and closet interiors must be free of smudges, grease, and food stains. A light cleaner such as “soft scrub” or Magic Eraser” will remove black marks from walls. Goo Gone is also good to remove black marks

✔ All woodwork, moldings, doors, baseboards, and trim must be free of dust, dirt, and debris

✔ All electrical outlets and switch plate covers must be free of dirt and smudges

✔ All smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors must be in working order

✔ All door stoppers should be present and in working order. Missing door stoppers should be replaced

Grounds

✔ All trash, yard debris, and personal items must be removed from the property

✔ All flowers and shrub beds must be cleaned and free of weeds, leaves, and debris. Be advised, we do not consider leaves and debris as mulch

✔ All animal waste must be removed

✔ All holes in the lawn must be filled with soil

✔ All grass must be cut and free of debris

✔ All walkways, patios, decks, and porches must be swept and free of debris

✔ All new oil stains must be removed from the garage and/or driveway

✔ The garage must be swept clean
